In fighting games, whether a move comes out on demand depends on how fast and accurately you input the motion. This trainer turns a motion into a key sequence, drills it round after round, and records each round window plus every step gap — marking the steps that fell outside your judgement window and the keys you pressed by mistake. Works with any keyboard — mechanical or membrane — and with hitboxes, mixboxes, leverless controllers or fight sticks switched to keyboard mode.

  1. Pick a motion preset to get a feel for it (Fireball S D J, Spin Kick A S D K, Dragon Punch D S D). For your own motion, type a key sequence under "Custom" and press Apply.
  2. Set the judgement window — 3/6/9 frames (≈50/100/150 ms), or any value from 2 to 120 frames. Tighter is closer to competitive play, but keep it fixed for any comparison.
  3. Choose the round count — 5/10/20/50, 20 by default. Scores from different round counts are not comparable.
  4. Press Start and enter the keys in the order shown on screen. The last key completes the round; timing starts from the first key.
  5. Read the result — each round reports its window, and the LCD tracks this round, your fastest, your average, progress and faults live.
  6. The session ends automatically at the round limit and is written to your records. To keep or share a result, pick "Latest 5/10/20" and press Download card for a PNG.

This tool measures execution consistency, not raw speed

Whether a move comes out on demand depends on how fast and how clean your input is. A CPS test measures single-key mashing, which has little to do with real motion inputs. What actually decides the round is whether the gaps between the keys in a multi-key sequence stay consistent — and whether you press the wrong key.

Whether you play Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, KOF XV, Guilty Gear Strive, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Mortal Kombat 1, Dragon Ball FighterZ or Granblue Fantasy Versus, the fireball-style quarter circle forward (QCF), the dragon punch motion and every half-circle or charge input come down to the same thing: an ordered sequence of keys, plus the gap each step is allowed to take.

Why are games this strict? Because they use an input buffer that looks back over the last few frames to match your input against the move list. Take too long between two steps and the sequence is dropped; squeeze two steps into the same frame and the intermediate state is never sampled, so the move does not come out either. The skill is not pressing fast — it is putting every step in the right rhythm.

So this trainer turns a motion into a key sequence (a fireball is S D J), has you drill it at the pace you normally play, and records three things:

· Round window — how long it took from the first key to the last, converted to frames at 60 fps;
· Per-step gaps — which step lagged and which one rushed, listed key by key (hover a step to see the millisecond value);
· Faults — wrong keys, plus any step that fell outside your judgement window.

A wrong key voids the round and counts as one fault. A step that runs past the judgement window only gets marked red and still counts toward your score — because a slow step and a wrong key are different problems, and mixing them hides both.

The judgement window is based on 60 fps (1 frame ≈ 16.67 ms) and can be set from 2 to 120 frames. Tighter is closer to competitive reality: 9 frames (≈150 ms) to get a feel for it, 6 frames (≈100 ms) once you are comfortable, 3 frames (≈50 ms) to drill the strictest execution. Keep the motion, window and round count identical when you compare — change several variables and the numbers mean nothing.

On hardware: any mechanical or membrane keyboard works, along with hitboxes, mixboxes, leverless controllers and fight sticks switched to keyboard mode. Keyboards and button-based controllers poll far faster than a 60 fps frame, so the same motion usually comes out more consistently on them than on a stick — one reason hitbox layouts became popular.

Build your own baseline first: run 2–3 rounds on the keyboard or controller you normally use, with one fixed motion and window, and note your best round. Then, whenever you change hardware, switches or grip, repeat under the same motion, window and round count and compare with that baseline. Why practise motion inputs in the browser instead of inside the game?

Because they are two different kinds of training. Most fighting games have no mode for the same motion at high repetition with instant resets; this tool lets you run one motion 50, 100 or more times back to back, with no reloading and no waiting for a match. It also puts numbers on your training data: the round window, every step gap and your fault count are all recorded, so progress is something you read rather than something you guess. More importantly, this trains hard muscle memory: inside a match your attention is pulled away by everything moving on screen, and the motion degrades. Diving is the same story — divers do not spend every session jumping off the board; they spend hours on a trampoline repeating and correcting the movement until the body owns it. That is exactly what you do here: chase maximum input efficiency while repeating the same motion until it comes out clean, every time.

How is this different from a CPS test?

A CPS test measures single-key mashing — raw speed on one key. This tool measures the rhythm and accuracy of a multi-key motion: whether each step is consistent and whether you press the wrong key. Which judgement window should I use?

Start with 9 frames (≈150 ms) to find your feel, move to 6 frames (≈100 ms) once comfortable, and use 3 frames (≈50 ms) to drill the strictest execution. Whatever you pick, keep it identical across a comparison — otherwise the numbers are not comparable.

Why is a step past the window not counted as a fault?

Because a slow step and a wrong key are different problems. A wrong key means the input sequence was wrong, so the round is void. A slow step means the rhythm wavered while the input was still correct — so it is marked red and still scores, letting you track rhythm on its own.

Why does holding a key only count once?

Keyboard repeat rate is an OS setting that differs from machine to machine; timing with it would measure your settings rather than you. So repeated keys require a release-then-press: holding counts once, and the hold time is added to that step's gap with an on-screen reminder.

Are my records uploaded?

No. The latest 100 runs live only in your browser local storage and are never sent to a server. Clearing browser data removes them — use Download card to keep a PNG copy.

Do these scores reflect my real ability?

They reflect your input timing itself, not the physical latency of your keyboard or controller — that is a hardware measurement (see 키보드 지연 시간 테스트). Treat these numbers as your personal execution baseline, not as the final latency of your setup.

Which keys are supported?

a–z, 0–9, arrows (up/down/left/right), space, enter, shift and tab. Numpad digits are recognised too and treated as equivalent to the main number row.

Can I use my own motion?

Yes. Choose "Custom", type the key sequence in order (space separated, e.g. s d j) and press Apply. You can also name the motion so it is easy to spot in your records.

Can I practise Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8 moves with it?

Yes. The tool does not know games, it knows key sequences — type the input you need in game under "Custom": a fireball quarter circle forward (QCF) becomes s d j, a dragon punch becomes d s d. Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, KOF XV, Guilty Gear Strive, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Mortal Kombat 1 and Dragon Ball FighterZ inputs all follow the same rules, so you never need another tool when you switch games.

There is only one answer: a mechanical keyboard. Not for the feel — for a hard requirement. A motion input needs several keys to register in quick succession, and most membrane keyboards are only 2–6 key rollover, so a press in the middle can simply never reach the system and the move breaks for no visible reason. Mechanical keyboards deliver n-key rollover (NKRO), and that is the precondition for this kind of training to mean anything. The tool does not favour any device, but there is an objective difference: keyboards, hitboxes and mixboxes are all button-based and poll far faster than a 60 fps frame, so each step is far more likely to survive a full frame — which is why the same motion usually comes out more consistently on them than on a stick, and one reason hitbox layouts became popular. As for which suits you, run the same motion and window a few times each and compare your fault count.

When does a round start timing?

From the moment you press the first key to the last one. The thinking time between pressing Start and your first key is not counted — that way the number measures the motion itself.

Why do my results vary so much between runs?

Hand feel, posture, fatigue, keyboard position and even hand temperature all matter. Keep the variables fixed (same motion, window, round count and posture), then run 2–3 rounds and take your best as the reference.

Any advice on how to use it?

Build your own baseline first: run 2–3 rounds on the gear you normally use and note your fastest window. Then, whenever you change hardware, switches or grip, repeat under the same conditions and compare. Beating your own baseline matters more than beating someone else score.

What do just-frame timing and frame data have to do with this tool?

Just-frame links are a rhythm problem, and this tool shows your step gaps in frames at 60 fps — effectively putting frame data in your hands. You can see how many frames each step took and which one is borderline, instead of guessing that it felt slow.
